Biyografi. 24.05.1975 Fatsa / Ordu doğumlu olan Ümit Yüksel Tekirdağ Anadolu Otelcilik ve Turizm Meslek Lisesinde meslek hayatına başladı. Çalışırken öğrenim hayatını lise ile sınırlamayıp otelcilik ve turizm meslek yüksek okulunu bitirdi. 1997 yılında Türkiye çapında yapılan yarışmada Türkiye birincisi olup Türk Aşçı Milli Takımına seçildi. Yurt dışı ve yurt içinde yapılan yarışmalarda 7 altın, 7 klasman birinciliği, 17 gümüş, 22 bronz ve çeşitli sertifikaları kazandı. Akdenizin bir çok tatil köyünde staj yaptıktan sonra İstanbul Grand Hotel Tarabya"da çalışmaya başladı. Daha sonra Kiriş World (Antalya), Çeşme Altınyunus Tatil Köyü(İzmir), Aden Hotel (İstanbul), Robert Koleji (İstanbul), THY, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza ve İstanbul RadissonSAS Hotellerinde çalışmıştır. Şu an Sheraton İstanbul Maslak Hotel"de Executive Chef pozisyonunda kariyerine devam etmektedir. Ümit Yüksel, İstanbul 5 yıldız otelleri içinde ayrıca en genç Executive Chef unvanına sahiptir. Almanya, İngiltere, Malta ve Rusya"da Türk mutfağı tanıtımlarında ve yarışmalarda bulunan şefimiz İtalyan, Lübnan, Alman ve Yunan mutfağı hakkında özel eğitimler almış, turizm tanıtma müdürlüğü ve Turizm Bakanlığı destekli tanıtımlar için resmi olarak tanınan Mutfak Profesyonelleri Derneği üyesi, Avrasya Aşçılar Derneği yönetim kurulu başkanı, Tüm Aşçılar Federasyonu genel sekreteri ve Türkiye Aşçılar Milli Takım Kaptanıdır. Genç Türk Mutfağı Şefleri Platformu üyesi de olan Ümit Yüksel yaratıcı Türk mutfağı adı altında Türk mutfağını geliştirmek ve yeni bir çehre vermek üzere sürekli araştırmalar yapmakta ve bununla ilgili faaliyetlere katılmaktadır. Türkiye aşçılarının WACS dünya şefler birliğine ve Dünya aşçılar olimpiyatlarına Türkiye olarak katılması için altyapıyı hazırlamada katkıları olup özellikle dünya aşçılar olimpiyatlarına katılınması için ön ayak olmuştur. Kimsesiz ve yetiştirme yurtlarında okuyan ve meslek sahibi olmak isteyen çocuklar ile ilgili projelerin hep destekçisi olup bu projeler içinde de sürekli yer almaktadır.
