Skal Dünya Başkanı Aslantaş'tan

İSTANBUL- Taipei'de yapılan kongrede Dünya Skal Başkanı seçilerek Türkiye'ye ve Türk kadınlarına büyük onur kazandıran Hülya Aslantaş, Skal üyelerine kongre hakkında Dünya Başkanı olarak  ilk duyurusunu yayınladı.Hülya Aslantaş duyurusunda "2009 already promises to be a very exciting year, as we will be celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Skål International and we would like to make this a very special year!" dedikten sonra "Herşeyi birlikte yapacağız" diyerek birlik ve beraberlik mesajı verdi.

Hülya Aslantaş'ın duyurusu şöyle: 

Dear Skålleagues, Friends,

We have just returned from Taipei, Taiwan where we held the 69th World Congress and our Annual General Assembly. More information and pictures are available on the website and various news channels for those who could not attend this memorable event, but I want to share with you all, right away, some highlights and the latest news.

First of all we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the professional organisation and most friendly welcome extended by the local authorities, Organising Committee and all Taiwanese Skålleagues. I would also like to thank Secretary General, Jim Power and his team for their help and support in the organisation of the congress.

We had the honour of having with us the Minister of Transportation and Communications Mr. Chi-Kuo Mao and the Mayor of Taipei, Mr. Lung-Bin Hau, along with many other prominent guests at the opening Ceremony and Presidential Gala Dinner.

On 14 October 2008, elections for the new Executive Committee were held and I am pleased to introduce to you below your new Executive Committee with their respective portfolios. I would like to extend a warm welcome on board to Karine Coulanges as the newly elected Director and to congratulate Tony Boyle on his election as Vice President:

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing President, Phillip Sims, for all his dedicated work during his presidency. Several Clubs, on five continents, had the privilege of welcoming him and hearing at first hand his valuable thoughts on how we can develop Skål. While we wish Phil more relaxed days ahead, we hope he will continue assisting us with his wisdom and the wealth of knowledge built up over his years in Office.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to all the delegates for electing me as the new leader of the Skål world and I promise to work, hand in hand with you, the members, to further advance Skål International during my term as President.

As leaders of world tourism, I am confident that we must work very closely together to continue improving the standards of our profession, ethics, quality and environment for sustainable development and world peace; the two preconditions for healthy growth in the tourism industry.

The world in which we live has and will always face various threats and difficulties, affecting the tourism sector and each of us, individually. In such times we should come even closer to support one another and benefit from being members of this prestigious organisation which is the first, the largest and the best structured Association in our industry, founded even before “Tourism & Travel” was recognised as a sector.

2009 already promises to be a very exciting year, as we will be celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Skål International and we would like to make this a very special year!

It is my personal wish that each and every one of you stay in close contact with us and follow up and respond to the various communications that will follow, as neither you or we alone can accomplish much, BUT TOGETHER WE CAN!
