MADRID- Fitur 2015, together with Segittur and Icex, is organising one of its specialised forums, Fitur Know How & Export, from 28 January to 1 February 2015, to raise awareness of the most innovative solutions devised by Spanish businesses in the field of tourism management.
Spain has become a worldwide standard in tourism-related issues. The country, now consolidated as the third international destination in terms of incoming tourists and second in revenue, occupies a world-class position as an international tourist destination and as the holder of valuable know-how, disseminated in countries with high tourist potential as well as in mature destinations. This is why the participation of Spanish businesses in the most relevant international events for the dissemination of know-how has become an important inducement for the industry, which is aware of the ability that strategies generated in Spain have in improving competitiveness and in developing new business models.
Fitur and Segittur, aware of this fact and after the success of previous stagings, in collaboration with Icex Spain Exports and Investments, will be presenting the 3rd staging of Fitur Know How & Export from 28 January to 1 February 2015 at Ifema. The initiative, which will be held as part of the trade show, will operate as a platform for Spanish businesses that are directly or indirectly involved in the tourism industry and are interested in raising awareness of their potential and in exhibiting their services and products to other international markets.
In addition, the Fitur Know How & Export forum is in line with the objectives of the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism contained in the National Comprehensive Tourism Plan (PNIT) 2012-2015, as it promotes the transfer and export of tourism know-how while supporting Spanish tourism businesses in their moves towards internationalisation and their incursion into new markets.
As the president of Segittur, Antonio López de Ávila, puts it “the 3rd staging of Fitur Know How & Export demonstrates the industry’s interest in having its own space dedicated to the internationalisation of Spanish businesses involved in tourist activity”. He also views this staging as “very special, as it will be presenting the latest advances on Intelligent Tourist Destinations, a pioneering project in the world that Segittur is already exporting to international destinations such as Mexico”.
López de Ávila has emphasised that “we will again be featuring initiatives that have raised a great deal of interest in the industry, such as the space reserved for tourism entrepreneurs and investors, the tourism app competition, the App guide and other novelties which, just like Google Glass did last year, will again surprise everyone”.
