BERLİN- Last year the European Travel Commission (ETC) launched the initiative “Destination Europe 2020“, a programme designed to involve the entire tourism industry in defining a long-term strategy for the promotion of Europe in key long-haul markets (Brazil, Canada, China and USA).
This 18-month programme of activities is supported by the European Commission with an immediate grant of EUR 1 million.
How will tourism in Europe develop in the future?
What are the latest trends? Which goals does the initiative “Destination Europe 2020” want to achieve?
And on which themes will ETC focus its activities in 2013?

• Eduardo Santander, Executive Director of the European Travel Commission (ETC), presenting the initiative “Destination Europe 2020”, a program designed in collaboration with the European Commission, which aims to develop a long-term strategy for Europe as a tourism destination involving the entire tourism industry.
• Miguel Gallego, Marketing, PR & Communication Manager (ETC), presenting ETC´s current marketing activities, with focus on online, video and social media channels.
• Ms Stefanie Gallob, Project Manager Research & Development (ETC), highlighting trends, facts and figures about ETC´s key markets with special focus on the Chinese outbound travel market.
• Helena Egan, Head of Destination Marketing Sales at TripAdvisor, explaining the collaboration between ETC and the world’s largest travel site regarding market intelligence and best practices in online travel marketing.
